STRATA East upscale apartments to open in Downtown Allentown in May 2017, preleasing now underway

STRATA East apartments Downtown AllentownFebruary 20, 2017  / Preleasing for STRATA East, Downtown Allentown’s upscale 67-unit apartment building under construction at Sixth and Linden streets, officially kicked off this past Saturday. The building, which plans to welcome its first residents in May 2017, is an expansion of STRATA West (formerly known as STRATA Flats), the 170-unit apartment building that opened in July 2015 and is currently fully leased.

Designed by WRT Architects, the $20 million STRATA East will include one- and two-bedroom units. The 100,000-square-foot pet-friendly building will be five stories tall and include a 2,750-square-foot private dog park, a dog wash, a theater room and a game room. The building’s residents will also have access to the amenities next door at STRATA West, which include a rooftop deck with a grill and a fire pit, a fitness center, a green courtyard, a resident lounge with shuffleboard and pool tables, and more. The buildings will be connected by the Linden Street Parking Deck, which new residents will use. STRATA East’s main entrance will be on the ArtsWalk.

“Our residents love living on the ArtsWalk in the heart of Downtown Allentown’s new, fun and exciting environment,” said STRATA Community Manager Robert Fox. “We’ve seen a great demand for STRATA West and now a strong interest in STRATA East as well. I expect STRATA East will be fully occupied by late June 2017.”

STRATA-EAST_box_logo-COLORSTRATA East’s apartments will range in size from 729 to 1,200 square feet and cost $1,140 to $1,715 per month. The units will feature nine-foot ceilings, oversized windows, granite kitchen and bathroom counters, stainless steel Energy Star® appliances, full-sized stackable washers and dryers, and city- or courtyard-view terraces. STRATA properties also offer onsite professional management, maintenance and concierge services.

City Center Lehigh Valley, is also leasing eight retail spaces on the first floor of STRATA East that will have storefronts along The ArtsWalk at City Center or Sixth Street across from Miller Symphony Hall.

“The incredible demand we’ve seen for STRATA units tells us that we can’t build apartments in downtown Allentown fast enough,” said City Center President J.B. Reilly, who added that construction has begun on City Center’s third residential building, STRATA Symphony, a 71-unit building at Sixth and Linden streets next to Miller Symphony Hall that is due for completion in early 2018.

About the STRATA East dog park

Because STRATA Flats at City Center is a truly a pet-friendly community, STRATA East’s courtyard will include a 78-foot-long private dog park with multiple dog-friendly surface materials, room for dogs to run off their leashes and play catch, dog obstacles and seating for residents. The dog park will be accessible from inside and outside the building and will be well lit for around-the-clock use.
