Norris Mclaughlin & Marcus and Velaspan Lease Additional Office Space in Three City Center

May 24, 2017 | City Center Investment Corp., the real estate development company whose major mixed-use development, City Center Lehigh Valley, is revitalizing downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania, announced today its office tenants Velaspan and Norris McLaughlin & Marcus have both leased additional space.

Velaspan, a wireless technology firm that moved into Three City Center in July 2015, is expanding its space in the building by 50 percent for a new total of almost 9,000 square feet. The expansion will be complete this month.

“We moved to downtown Allentown with expansion in mind because of the great location and opportunities to collaborate with other downtown companies,” said Kerry Kulp, Velaspan network systems consultant and partner. “As a direct result of our location, we have built relationships that have led to additional business, requiring us to recruit and expand our workforce.”
Law firm Norris McLaughlin & Marcus (NMM) became the anchor tenant of Three City Center in April 2015, leasing more than 35,000 square feet for its 73 Allentown-based employees. This summer, the firm’s space will increase by more than 5,000 square feet. NMM had previously been headquartered in downtown Allentown until 1994 when its offices in Corporate Plaza collapsed into a sinkhole.

“My partners and I are pleased with our decision in 2015 to return home to downtown Allentown with new state-of-the-art, efficient and secure offices,” said Norris McLaughlin & Marcus Chairman Matthew Sorrentino. “We are especially pleased because many of our clients and friends share our commitment to the city. As such, our firm has grown to the point where additional space is needed.”

Three City Center is now fully leased. Located in the 500 block of Hamilton Street, the seven-story Class A tower was opened in early 2015. The 167,000-square-foot building features first-floor retail, underground parking and entrances on both Hamilton Street and the Allentown Arts Park.

“More and more businesses are recognizing that downtown Allentown has become a very desirable location for attracting and retaining talent and for growth,” said Jarrett Laubach, City Center’s director of leasing. “City Center is pleased that Velaspan and Norris McLaughlin & Marcus have chosen to expand here.”
