Allentown Symphony Orchestra

Get a taste of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra every Friday over lunch

A Taste of Allentown Symphony OrchestraAugust 12, 2016  /  You don’t have to be a music aficionado to fall in love with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. It is an amazing group of musicians and a true Lehigh Valley treasure. The level of talent and artistry in this orchestra is immediately apparent upon your first listen, and is something everyone can enjoy. I tell you this as someone with no training or background in classical music, but who is a huge fan of the ASO. I’ve heard them perform everything from Puccini to video-game soundtracks to The Beatles, and it is always pure delight. If you have not yet heard the orchestra perform, your opportunity is coming. Soon.

Luckily for you and thanks to a generous grant from Air Products (a Two City Center neighbor of ours), a new free concert series is going on each Friday for the next few weeks featuring members of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra. And it’s wonderful!

About the new Taste of Allentown Symphony program

This is your chance to hear the Allentown Symphony Orchestra musicians perform solos and duos in restaurants, parks and plazas on the streets of Downtown Allentown during lunchtime on Fridays through the end of September. They will play light classics, popular songs and other repertoire of their choice in very friendly and informal public settings, where they can really connect music with people. The Taste of Allentown Symphony Program gets underway Friday, August 12. Please see the list below for the schedule and the venues.
